2026 consumer guide · By Psychic Peter Sousa · Published October 3, 2026 · Updated October 3, 2026

Online psychic reading sites range from large networks with hundreds or thousands of advisors to independent practices where you speak with one particular reader. Those are different services, even when their websites use similar language. A platform built for an immediate phone call solves a different problem from a personally prepared email reading.

There is no single best psychic reading site for everyone. The useful question is which service gives you the format, pricing clarity, boundaries, and reader relationship you actually want. This guide compares Keen, California Psychics, Psychic Source, Purple Garden, Kasamba, and my independent practice, StarlightWork, without assigning invented scores or declaring a winner.

My disclosure: I work professionally as a psychic reader and operate StarlightWork, so I obviously have a perspective from inside the industry. My goal here is not to pretend that one service is right for everyone, but to explain how some of the major psychic platforms differ and what I would look at before choosing one.

I reviewed the companies’ current official websites for this article; this is not a report of purchased or personally tested readings. Screening, history, and satisfaction statements below are the companies’ own descriptions, not independent verification of psychic ability. Offers were checked on October 3, 2026 and may change or depend on eligibility.

Quick comparison

Start with the service model, then look at the individual reader. “Suited for” describes a practical use, not a quality ranking. On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare all six columns.

Online psychic reading services: formats, reader choice, and costs
Service	Suited for	Reading formats	Reader choice	Pricing model	Distinguishing feature
Keen	Browsing many advisors; quick live access	Phone and live chat; mobile app	Choose an advisor profile	Advisor-specific per-minute rates	Broad marketplace with around-the-clock platform access
California Psychics	Phone or chat through an established network	Phone and live chat; mobile app	Choose a psychic; matching assistance offered	Per-minute rates; introductory offers	Company-described screening and a stated satisfaction policy
Psychic Source	Comparing phone, chat, and video advisors	Phone, chat, video; mini readings	Browse and select an advisor	Per-minute live rates; introductory pricing	Multiple live formats and a published advisor code of ethics
Purple Garden	App-oriented live readings	Chat, voice, video; iOS and Android apps	Browse individual advisor profiles	Profile-listed per-minute rates	Mobile marketplace with three live connection formats
Kasamba	Text-first advisor browsing	Live chat emphasized; mobile app	Choose an individual advisor	Advisor-specific per-minute rates	Chat-led marketplace with topic and tool categories
StarlightWork	One reader; continuity or prepared written guidance	Live chat, browser voice/video, email; scheduled options	Peter Sousa personally	Timed live sessions; fixed-price written readings	Independent practice rather than an advisor network

Formats and availability can differ by advisor. This table does not claim that a format absent from the verified pages is unavailable everywhere on a platform.

Keen: a large marketplace for phone and chat

Keen gives you a large directory of individual advisors rather than assigning everyone to the same psychic. Its current website promotes phone and live chat without an appointment, with platform access around the clock. That does not mean your chosen reader will always be online.

Topics include relationships, life direction, tarot, astrology, spiritual readings, and mediumship. The official app guide describes iOS and Android access, live availability information, and callback scheduling. Look at the reader’s listed rate and methods before connecting; a platform category is not a promise that every advisor covers that subject.

Keen’s advisor application guidance says screening includes identity verification, a questionnaire, a background check, content review, and a skill assessment. These are company-described selection steps, not scientific confirmation of predictions.

At the research check, Keen advertised five minutes for $1 for new customers. Normal live rates are advisor-specific and charged by the minute. Its satisfaction policy describes eligible credits up to $25, a 72-hour request window, and availability once every 30 days. That is Keen credit for future readings, not an unconditional cash refund.

The advantage is choice and quick access. The trade-off is the work of sorting through profiles. I would narrow by topic, communication style, and budget before treating a popular listing as a personal recommendation.

California Psychics: an established phone-and-chat network

California Psychics states that it has offered readings since 1995. Its current service description centers on live phone and chat, individual reader selection, and 24/7 platform availability. It also offers a mobile app and assistance with finding a psychic.

The directory separates interests such as love, career, life path, tarot, clairvoyance, and mediumship. That structure can help you compare specialties instead of choosing only by a photograph or promotional headline. Read the individual profile to understand how that person communicates.

The company says it accepts two out of every hundred psychic applicants following screening. I would treat that as its selection claim, not an independently audited measure of accuracy. A selective network can still contain readers with very different approaches.

Its homepage advertised 15 free introductory minutes when checked. The official pricing page describes per-minute pricing; confirm the offer’s conditions, eligible readers, and the rate that applies afterward. A promotion should make a first conversation easier to budget, not obscure the continuing cost.

California Psychics describes a “Life-Changing or FREE” guarantee and asks dissatisfied customers to contact customer care within 24 hours. The same page explicitly says it does not guarantee that predictions will come true. Read the full terms before assuming the slogan means an automatic refund in every situation.

This network may suit someone who wants an established phone-reading service, chat access, and help choosing a reader. Continuity is still possible, but a preferred psychic’s schedule matters.

Psychic Source: several live formats and a stated ethics policy

Psychic Source states that it has operated since 1989. Clients browse individual advisors, with phone, chat, and video described on its current website. The site also mentions mini readings and messaging a favorite advisor when they are offline; do not assume those options are identical to a full email reading.

Its descriptions cover tarot, relationships, astrology, life direction, and connecting with loved ones who have died. For a mediumship session, check the actual advisor’s specialty rather than relying on the platform’s broad range of categories.

Psychic Source says its screening includes multiple test readings, background verification, and assessment of abilities. Its published code of ethics is a useful place to examine the boundaries it expects from readers. The company’s statements about authenticity or accuracy remain its own claims.

The official pricing page describes first-time introductory readings as low as $1 per minute. That is an introductory offer, not a universal regular rate. Live sessions are minute-based, so review the selected advisor’s current price and available format.

The website also describes a satisfaction guarantee. Its practical instruction is to end a session promptly if you feel the advisor is not connecting and contact customer support. I would check the current policy’s eligibility and remedy rather than translate “risk free” into a promise of guaranteed results.

Its official app FAQ lists Apple and Android downloads, advisor notifications, return-call management, and access to the website. Psychic Source is worth considering when video is important alongside phone or chat. Not every reader necessarily offers every channel at every moment.

Purple Garden: an app-oriented live-reading marketplace

Purple Garden is built around browsing individual advisors and connecting in real time. Its official advisor information describes live chat, voice, and video, with client apps for iOS and Android. Voice here is a live connection format; check the app’s instructions rather than assuming it is a conventional telephone call.

The directory includes love readings, tarot, mediumship, astrology, oracle guidance, and other spiritual topics. Profiles display per-minute prices, making the chosen advisor and session duration central to your budget.

Purple Garden’s current verification page describes identity and compliance checks, live mock readings, profile moderation, ethical guidelines, and ongoing review of service standards. Its application information also asks for a profile and test reading. I am using those current descriptions rather than assuming an older account of its screening still applies.

At the check, its homepage advertised paying $10 to receive $40 in credit. It also described satisfaction support of up to $50 in credits to try another advisor. Credit is not the same as money returned to your payment card. Read eligibility, timing, and usage conditions before buying.

The appeal is convenient mobile access and several live formats. The limitation is familiar marketplace selection work: you still need to identify a suitable reader. A list described as “most accurate” reflects the platform’s labeling and user feedback, not a controlled accuracy study.

Kasamba: a chat-led marketplace with many advisor categories

Kasamba currently emphasizes psychic chat. You browse individual advisor profiles and choose among categories including psychic readings, tarot, astrology, numerology, dream analysis, and mediumship. Its official website describes serving clients since 1999.

Profiles show individual minute-based rates. The homepage advertised three free minutes on a first reading when checked. Confirm how eligibility works and when normal billing begins; a short introduction is not a complete session for every question.

Kasamba’s current verification explanation describes identity checks, live mock readings, ethical guidelines, and continued review based on service standards and feedback. Those procedures are company statements. They do not establish that one advisor will predict a particular outcome for you.

The company also describes a satisfaction remedy of up to $50 in credits to try another advisor. As with other credit-based guarantees, check restrictions rather than assuming a cash refund. Its official app information lists iOS and Android availability.

Kasamba may suit someone who likes typing questions and comparing reading tools or specialties. This guide does not list phone, video, or email as verified current Kasamba formats; I did not establish their current availability from the pages used here. Check a specific profile before choosing it for a channel other than chat.

Independent psychic readers vs. large psychic networks

The difference is not that one model is inherently more accurate. It is how you find a reader, how the service is organized, and what happens when you want to return.

When a large network makes practical sense

A network gives you a pool of advisors, often covering many specialties and time zones. If you want a non-emergency conversation late at night, that breadth can be useful. You can compare different styles and switch readers when the first connection does not suit you.

There is also a platform between you and the advisor, with its own billing, support, and dispute procedures. Examine those procedures rather than assuming every marketplace provides the same protections.

The downside is selection effort. A recognizable company name does not tell you which of its many readers will communicate well with you. Around-the-clock access means some advisors may be available, not that your favorite person is. Repeatedly trying readers can also become expensive if you do not set limits.

When one independent reader makes sense

With an independent practice, you know who will conduct the reading before you book. Returning to the same person can create continuity: you may spend less time explaining communication preferences or repeating background. Direct scheduling and prepared written readings can be useful when a spontaneous conversation is inconvenient.

Those benefits are possibilities, not guarantees. An independent reader may have limited hours, slower replies, fewer available formats, or a smaller support operation. You should still inspect prices, cancellation rules, privacy information, and professional boundaries.

You can also build continuity with one advisor on a large network. The distinction is whether the service is centered on that relationship or on access to a broader directory. Choose according to your needs, not the assumption that a smaller practice must be more authentic or a larger company must be more trustworthy.

Where StarlightWork fits

At StarlightWork, you are choosing me, Psychic Peter Sousa, rather than entering a marketplace of interchangeable advisors. My background and approach are available before you decide to book. I personally provide the readings.

The current options include live chat, browser-based voice and video, and personally prepared email readings. Live services are billed by active session time and depend on availability; written readings have a fixed product price and question scope. Scheduled sessions are available through the booking options.

For someone who wants to organize questions without matching schedules, an email psychic reading offers a written response, normally prepared within 24–48 hours after submission. Mediumship readings and spiritual guidance are also described on the site. These are spiritual services, not substitutes for medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice.

If you prefer a broad directory and immediate access to whichever advisor is online, a marketplace may fit better. If you prefer returning to one known reader, explore private psychic readings with Peter Sousa. My practice is based in Texas and serves clients remotely; the worldwide readings guide explains international access and time-zone considerations. I am not available around the clock.

How to choose a psychic reading site

Choose the service model first. Do you want a wide directory, or have you already decided on a particular reader? Either can work. Knowing your preference stops you comparing unlike services only by their introductory banners.
Work out the cost before connecting. Check the normal rate, billing unit, minimum purchase, and what happens after promotional time ends. For a fixed-price reading, check the question limit and delivery window. Set a total budget, not just a comfortable-looking minute rate.
Read the individual profile. Look for specialties, tools, style, and formats. A compassionate mediumship reader and a direct tarot reader may approach the same conversation differently. Pick the method you want rather than assuming every psychic offers everything.
Read recent reviews with context. Notice comments about communication, clarity, billing, and pressure. One enthusiastic review is not proof of predictive accuracy. StarlightWork’s client reviews, like other testimonials, describe personal experiences rather than guaranteed future results.
Understand the satisfaction policy. Find out whether a remedy is a refund, replacement reading, or platform credit. Check deadlines, exclusions, and how to contact support. Save the terms that apply when you purchase.
Confirm the format you actually need. Live chat means typing while both people are present. Email means waiting for a prepared response. Video adds camera requirements; voice may use a browser or app rather than your telephone line.
Look for clear ethical boundaries. A reader should respect your freedom to decide, explain what the service does not provide, and avoid presenting spiritual impressions as medical diagnoses or financial instructions.
Be cautious about fear-based upselling. You should not have to buy more time, a ritual, or an object to avoid a threatened catastrophe. A useful conversation does not require manufactured urgency.
Reject paid curse-removal threats. If someone says only an urgent, expensive payment will remove a curse or protect your family, stop. Do not negotiate the price of a fear-based demand.
Decide how much continuity matters. If you want to return, check the reader’s schedule and booking process. Keep enough independence to pause readings when they no longer help; continuity should never become dependency.

Red flags when choosing an online psychic

These warnings apply to any reader or business model, not to a named competitor:

Guaranteed relationship outcomes, lottery wins, investment returns, or precise life events.
Threats involving curses, spirits, or impending catastrophe unless you pay.
Emergency money demands or escalating ritual payments based on fear.
Requests for passwords, banking logins, full financial records, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Pressure to speak only to the reader, conceal payments, or become emotionally dependent.
Unclear rates, concealed charges, or refusal to explain cancellation and refund rules.

Stop the conversation if you feel pressured. Keep receipts and messages, contact the platform or payment provider if needed, and involve appropriate authorities when there are threats or suspected fraud. A psychic reading is not an emergency support service.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best online psychic reading site?

There is no objectively best platform for every person. Compare the reader, format, regular price, support rules, and relationship you want. A phone-oriented network, a mobile video marketplace, and a fixed-price written reading serve different needs.

Are online psychic readings legitimate?

Established businesses offer real conversations with individual readers, but that does not scientifically validate psychic predictions. Treat readings as spiritual or intuitive guidance, maintain your own judgment, and do not use them in place of qualified professional advice.

Is Keen a legitimate psychic site?

Keen is an active advisor marketplace with published application guidance, billing information, and a satisfaction policy. That establishes an operating service, not proof that every advisor’s impressions are correct. Assess the specific reader and terms before paying.

How do psychic reading platforms choose their advisors?

Processes differ. The official pages reviewed describe combinations of identity checks, applications, test or mock readings, profile review, and ongoing feedback. Those are the companies’ descriptions of screening, not a standardized independent certification of psychic ability.

Are independent psychics different from psychic networks?

Yes, mainly in service organization. An independent practice centers on one reader; a network offers access to many advisors. Neither structure guarantees accuracy. Independent readers may offer continuity, while networks may offer broader availability and centralized support.

Are psychic readings available by chat?

Yes. All six services in this comparison describe live chat. Confirm that your selected reader is available for that channel. Live chat is a real-time typed conversation, not the same as sending a question for a later written response.

Can I get a psychic reading by email?

Some readers offer prepared written readings. Check the number of questions, delivery time, price, and follow-up policy. StarlightWork offers this format; the guide to how written readings work explains the process. Do not assume an advisor’s messaging feature includes a complete email reading or unlimited follow-up.

How much do online psychic readings cost?

There is no universal price. Live platforms commonly display advisor-specific per-minute rates; prepared written readings can use fixed prices. Multiply the normal minute rate by your planned duration, check fees, and separate temporary introductory discounts from ongoing costs.

What should I ask during a psychic reading?

Bring a few focused questions about your own choices, patterns, or concerns. “What should I consider before changing jobs?” allows more useful reflection than demanding a guaranteed date. Avoid asking a reader to diagnose illness, select investments, or override another person’s boundaries.

How can I tell if a psychic site is trustworthy?

Look for identifiable readers, understandable prices, accessible support, privacy information, and written policies. Read recent feedback and watch how the reader handles uncertainty. Testimonials and screening claims should not replace those basic checks.

Can I use an online psychic from outside the United States?

Often, but check the specific service’s supported countries, payment methods, app availability, language, currency, and time zones. Remote access does not mean every platform accepts every country. Also check local age requirements and rules before purchasing.

Sources and editorial approach

Official service pages, pricing information, advisor application and verification pages, app guides, and satisfaction policies linked above were reviewed on October 3, 2026. Offers and policies can change. I have not independently audited screening, verified claimed accuracy, or purchased comparison readings for this article. There are no affiliate links, paid placement rankings, or invented star scores.

My aim is straightforward: help you understand what you are buying before you spend money. Choose a reading that respects your budget, leaves room for your own judgment, and does not use fear to keep you coming back.
